Have you ever wished that there was a 24 hour Praise & Worship service?
Sort of like how Burger King is open 24 hours on Friday & Saturday. Anytime you get hungry, just pull on through and get what you need.
I know, Worship cannot be compared to fast food. Worship can only be compared to a savory eight course meal. It takes a while to get through but is incredibly satisfying.
I simply hunger for Worship today.
More than that, I hunger for God’s Presence.
For three days now I have spent a lot of time hearing the Word and Worship music. My Pastor has often said, no one can spend much time soaking up the Word and an atmosphere of Worship and not be changed. Thank God, I hope I’m changing!
I know that I do not really need a Praise & Worship service to enter into Worship. I only need to give my attention to God and begin to consider Him and thoughts and words of praise and worship will come to my mind and my lips. All I need to do is give voice to them.
Sometimes music is nice though. I adore today’s beautiful worship music! I love to put on a cd or tape and close my eyes and sing along, letting the words speak my heart and tell God how much I love Him. So often, the words are ministering God’s incredible love to me in return and I am just swept up in a warm awareness of his Presence.
I haven’t studied Worship deeply and I would really like to. I know that Worship is something we do in response to God and that He loves it when we do it. I guess it is like everything else that we do in obedience out of a heart motivated by love – there are awesome unexpected benefits to us.
There is a 24 Hour Praise & Worship service by the way.
It’s going on in Heaven. I can’t wait to get there.
Father God, I do worship You. I pray that You will put a hunger in my heart for more and more time in Your Presence. Please don’t ever let me grow cold in our relationship. Keep calling me deeper and closer. I thank you, that when I worship You, you are changing me, filling me with Your Holy Spirit and cleaning out the old residue of the world. Please give me a soft, worshipful heart for you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
