My Name is Tara, Christian Life Coach
September 15, 2009 by Tara McClenahan
I am so thrilled to introduce myself to you all as the newest blog intern for Women by Grace for the next 10 weeks! My name is Tara McClenahan and I am a WAHM to a 2-year-old son who is a joyous gift from God. I have been working from home as a hospital health information data analyst and have recently added the title “Christian Life Coach” behind my name along with the corresponding credential. I am passionate about studying God’s Word and spending quiet time with the Lord and then spreading that passion to other women.
I have been a writer-at-heart for as long as I can remember but have only recently lasered in on what direction I should go with it. This internship with Kelly is an amazing blessing that I am confident will hone my skills and allow me to hit the ground running on the path I believe God has mapped out for me.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you as well and hopefully chat about what God is doing in your lives and the struggles you may be facing.
In fact, I would love to hear from all of you!
Please comment and share a little something with me that you’d like to see me cover here on the blog in the next couple of months.
For example…
1. My biggest challenge/struggle/obstacle as a Christian woman is…
2. The character trait that I most wish was fully developed in my life is…
3. I need help understanding the following topic or issue…

My biggest obstacle is that I seemed to have lost God in my life. I know he’s there waiting for me, but I can’t seem to connect to him.
The trait that I hope to fix is my devotion to God, daily.
I need help knowing the way a Christian woman is supposed to be a good wife, while still being her own person.
Hi Tara! Can’t wait to read your posts. I’d personally love to hear how you became a Life Coach and what is involved with that.
Tara, I think self control is what I am working on the most. When I surrender myself to God and use self control it is amazing how much better the day goes. I look forward to reading each of your posts.
Tara, I have been feeling very distant from God lately. I wish I could find my way back to him.
I need help knowing how to be a compliant woman of God, but still being myself.
I’m an intern on the Mom’s Resource Blog & I look forward to getting to know you.
Welcome Tara! Look forward to any of your posts and why you decided to be a life coach.
Nikki & Mimi ~ Thank you for your comments! I look forward to sharing with you about life coaching and how God can use that to impact women’s lives! Keep reading!
Jennifer ~ Thank you for your comment! I agree that self-control is a BIG issue and one of the hardest to tackle! I plan to cover that in the upcoming posts! Thank you for sharing!
Hi, Tara! Welcome to the internship! I am looking forward to working with you and reading your posts, too!
My biggest challenge as a christian woman is to give time to God first. I seem to get caught up in my own life (2 young kids, new home-based business and husband) and save time for God last. I am working on that now!
Looking forward to working with you!
Hi Tara nice to meet you! Looking forward to reading your posts! I think my biggest problem is self control.
Hey Tara don’t know if you ‘remember’ me or not but I’m Kelly’s assistant Tishia. Welcome aboard! I’m looking forward to seeing your posts and hearing what you have to say.
In regards to what I’d like to see/hear – well I’ve been a Christian since 2001 and I am constantly finding my biggest challenge/struggle/obstacle to be staying plugged in. Meaning making the time to read my Bible, spend quiet time with God. I’m great with going to Him when I need help and feel ‘desperate’ but when things are going good I tend to push Him to the back burner and I hate that I do this. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Hi Tishia! Of course I remember you! I love your name so I recognized it right away!
Thank you for posting your comments!
I agree that staying connected to God, in the good times as well as the bad, is a struggle and you are most definitely not alone! I would venture to say that at one time or another, all Christian women struggle with this. This is one topic that I will be doing a series on so be looking for it!
Blessings!
Tara
